As discussed elsewhere, the Preece name
originated in Wales and English border
counties, but since the late seventeenth
century members of Preece families have
travelled overseas, and many of you reading
this will be linked to these families, mostly
in North America, Australia and New Zealand.
A variety of sources have been searched for
details of such journeys, using both obvious
links such as the excellent Ellis
Island website, passengers lists in
printed forms in libraries and transcriptions
such as those on the Immigrant
Ships Transcribers Guild site. There are
also further lists available on subscription
sites as those shown on the Links page.
At present the links below will take you to
straightforward lists of the Preece passengers
travelling to North America and Australasia,
but expansion of this listing will take place
in time, both in numbers of entries and the
information given. Please remember that this
is an ongoing project.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TERM 'PASSENGER' ALSO
REFERS TO MEMBERS OF THE SHIPS CREW. I HOPE TO
BE ABLE TO ANNOTATE SUCH ENTRIES CLEARLY IN
THE FUTURE, BUT IN THE MEANTIME IF YOU NEED
FURTHER INFORMATION OR CLARIFICATION PLEASE
LET ME KNOW AND I'LL SEE IF I CAN HELP.
